Meet Veronica Bolling-Franklin

VFranklin.jpeg

I have been married for more than 30 years to a dedicated small business owner, and together we’ve raised three beautiful daughters who are thriving in their own paths.

I am a proud graduate of Oral Roberts University, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management.

For over a decade, I have worked as a project manager. I currently work for a biotechnology company that manufacture equipment that rapidly diagnoses cancer in children; a mission that keeps me grounded in service and purpose.

I am an elected school board member in my second four-year term representing Matteson, Richton Park, and Tinley Park in Elementary School District 159. My leadership has been recognized statewide through my service with the Illinois Association of School Boards as a Director-at-Large, a member of the Constitution Review Committee, and as a Distinguished Board Member.

In District 159, I co-chaired the Finance Committee and now serve on the Committee of the Whole, helping guide a $55 million annual budget with transparency and responsibility.

As a trusted public servant, I have consistently stood alongside teachers and paraprofessionals advocating for equitable pay and a respectful professional culture.

I worked collaboratively to negotiate a collective bargaining agreement with the IEA–NEA that delivered a historic increase in pay; an important win at a time when teacher shortages are rising and fewer college students are entering the profession.

My commitment to service extends beyond the boardroom. I have volunteered at the Rich Township Food Pantry to help address food insecurity and supported L.U.C.Y., an inaugural organization serving children in the Department of Children and Family Services foster care system.

I have listened to and stood with my neighbors at countless meetings opposing the unfair property tax hikes that are burdening families and threatening our stability. It was this inequitable tax system that compelled me to pick up a pen, sign a petition, and step forward to run for County Commissioner of the 6th District.

I am a servant leader who advocates for those whose voices are too often unheard. I speak for those still finding their voice, and I fight for what is fair and right.

I am committed to honesty, integrity, inclusion, transparency, and responsible stewardship of public resources.

We are all in this together. We aim to ensure that every voice is heard and that we work for the needs of our community.

Always - People BEFORE Politics.
